S.O.S. Senior Oral-health Services…
Meet the owners of
S.O.S. Senior Oral-health Services!
At S.O.S., we are dedicated to improving the oral health and overall well-being of nursing home residents. Our founders, Kelly, Diana, and Ann, bring years of experience as dental hygienists and a shared passion for making a difference in senior care.
During their careers, they noticed a troubling gap in the oral care provided to nursing home residents. The challenges were clear—limited access to dental services, transportation barriers, and understaffed facilities made it difficult for residents to receive the care they needed.
Instead of trying to solve every oral care problem as it arises, we realized the need to focus on prevention. By addressing issues before they develop, we not only work to prevent oral diseases like decay, infection, and gum disease but also reduce the risk of systemic health problems such as aspiration pneumonia, heart disease, and cognitive decline.
During the first year of S.O.S., our team researched extensively to find the best way to serve the generation that needs us more than ever.
The result? A dedicated team with dental expertise visiting senior living facilities once a week to provide thorough preventative oral care without disrupting residents’ daily schedules. We also report any findings after each visit to keep residents and their families informed.
Last year, we welcomed Pat to the team. With her background in business, Pat has played a crucial role in helping us expand our reach, allowing more nursing home residents to benefit from our services. Together, we are making an impact, one smile at a time.
